My father, Alan Hodgdon, lived a life full of climbing and other outdoor activities from January 1942 until September, 2019. I hosted a memorial web site from October 2019 to May 2022 at alan.jhodgdon.com for him. Friends and family members sent photos, audio and video recordings, and stories, which I posted on the site; others read the posts and added their comments and thoughts.
In May of 2022, I reformatted and archived the live site into a PDF file (aside from two audio recordings and one video, which are linked in the PDF file and below). Then I took down the site, and redirected it to this page. You can:
- Download or view the PDF file -- it is 153 pages long, so please do the environment a favor and don't print it!
- Download or view the Consolidated English Guide (more current than the one in the full site archive)
- Listen to an audio recording from Carla Wesson
- Listen to an audio recording from Tom Vogelman and Mary Neighbours of them singing a silly (and irreverant) song
- Watch a video of Alan climbing at Granite Point in 1990 from Craig Whitney
